Heart Failure Question Time

Advanced and specialist practice within pharmacy is a growing discipline. Heart failure is a clinical area where pharmacists have an evidence base for improving outcomes. This Question Time session will discuss the role of the clinical pharmacist within the HF MDT, the knowledge and skill set needed for pharmacists to deliver such a role and the complex clinical issues within this patient group, including the importance of co-morbidity and challenges of improving symptoms. The newly published UKCPA Heart Failure Group competency framework will also be discussed. The four pharmacists involved in this session all deliver daily care for heart failure patients across both primary and secondary care. You will have the opportunity to ask them questions about a variety of HF related aspects, including how the new NICE HF guidelines are relevant to the role of the heart failure pharmacist.
