Welcome to the PM Healthcare National Forum for Respiratory Medicines

John Chater, July 2026

The PM Healthcare National Forum for Respiratory Medicines Optimisation 2026, at the Royal College of General Practitioners in London, is bringing delegates and leading experts together for a day of discussion, interaction and practical learning focused on the future of respiratory care.

Chaired by Minesh Parbat, Chief Pharmacist and Clinical Director – Strategic Medicines Commissioning, the forum comes at an important time for pharmacy within the NHS in England.

While the profession continues to face significant challenges, today’s programme demonstrates that there are also exciting opportunities for pharmacists to lead improvements in patient care, embrace new technologies and help shape the next generation of respiratory services.

Our opening, keynote presentation will be delivered by Ravijyot Saggu, Chair of the UK Clinical Pharmacy Association (UKCPA) Respiratory Committee, who will bring her unique knowledge and experience to give us all a clear insight into developments in respiratory medicine nationally which will impact on patient care and the role of pharmacy.

Throughout the forum, delegates will hear from a range of expert speakers covering some of the most significant developments in respiratory care. Sessions will explore the expanding role homecare, the practical challenges of implementing dupilumab within the British Thoracic Society framework, updates to national asthma guidelines, workforce development, artificial intelligence in pharmacy, and examples of innovative respiratory practice.

We will be reporting on each presentation throughout the day, with regular blogs and updates on LinkedIn, sharing the key insights, innovations and essential learning.
