National Forum for Scotland – 12th November 2025

John Chater, December 2025

PM Healthcare’s annual National Forum for Scotland, held on 12th November in Glasgow, bought together an electric and highly relevant programme of speakers and delegates to what has now become a pharmacy and healthcare event fixture in Scotland.

The day opened with a plenary panel of three senior pharmacists who discussed the current and future landscape for pharmacy in Scotland, a conversation that included workforce issues, how digital and AI could transform the profession, and the role of community pharmacy in an ever changing NHS.

In other sessions: the topical issue of weight-loss drugs was debated, especially how the NHS can manage and fund their use; presenters shared their experience of pharmacist clinics, specifically the Glasgow and Lanarkshire models; the future of homecare was debated; and, a closing presentation positively described the potential of pharmacy to assume a leadership role in the future of medicines and pharmacy.

As in previous years, the quality of presenters was matched by an informed and committed audience that engaged with insightful and challenging questions throughout the day.

We are extremely grateful to our expert speakers and the delegates who made the event such a success and look forward to next year’s Forum with a strong sense of excitement and anticipation.
