Rachel Brace works as a practice based clinical pharmacist employed directly by a GP surgery in South Wales. After a decade in hospital pharmacy, predominantly based in acute medicine, Rachel moved in to primary care to work as a prescribing advisor for five years. This afforded the opportunity to develop her interest and expertise in persistent pain and substance misuse, working with the local pain team and community drug and alcohol teams to become an independent prescriber in this area. Other adventures have included running a prison pharmacy department and acting as a tutor on the independent prescribing course. In her spare time Rachel enjoys camping holidays with her family and walking her dog on the beach.
