Belief, Belonging and the Value We Bring – What does it look like when we own our expertise?
Professor Jamie Hayes, Executive and Performance Coach, delivered an inspiring session exploring how healthcare professionals can recognise their own value and maximise their impact through confidence, presence and authentic leadership.
Drawing on insights from healthcare, elite sport, business and the performing arts, he challenged delegates to think beyond technical expertise and consider the behaviours, mindsets and relationships that enable individuals and teams to perform at their best.
Jamie discussed the importance of professional identity, psychological safety, effective communication and building trust, emphasising that leadership is demonstrated as much through vulnerability, curiosity and connection as through authority.
He encouraged delegates to reflect on the habits that may be limiting their influence and to reconnect with the purpose that brought them into healthcare. His presentation left a clear message: owning your expertise begins with believing in the value you bring and using it to inspire confidence in others.
Person-centered and interactive, with lots of practical advice for those wanting to own their expertise and confidently enjoy what they do. Delivered with a commendable degree of brio by a very engaging speaker.
